With the development of technology in general and the traffic sector in particular, toll collection stations in Vietnam are gradually shifting from one-stop toll collection (MTC) to non-stop toll collection (ETC).

To deploy non-stop toll collection stations, 2 main technologies are needed:

  • RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology uses radio waves to automatically identify motor vehicles.
  • Laser sensor technology to detect and separate vehicles, trigger the camera to capture license plates, command the RFID reader to latch data and send it to the server
